Job Summary

Under the direction of the Executive Director, Talent Acquisition & Compensation, this position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining recruitment and other employment and sourcing programs and policies.

  • Provides advice and counsel on employment practices and recruitment processes.
  • Day to day supervision of the recruitment staff.
  • Establishes objectives and work plans in managing recruitment and employment programs.
  • Delegates assignments to subordinate staff and reviews and approves recommendations for functional programs.
  • Objectives are reviewed by senior management to determine success of operation.
  • Oversees long-range marketing and recruitments plans that are strategic in nature.
  • Has extensive interactions with all levels of internal and external contacts on issues of significance to the campus.
  • Exercises excellent judgment in interpreting and administering recruitment programs of diverse and significant scope.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • 5 years of experience in Human Resources, including leadership experience in a complex academic or healthcare environment.
  • Leadership skills and experience in making decisions regarding hiring, evaluation, coaching, and developing professional-level exempt and non-exempt staff and determining, setting, and achieving unit goals.
  • Experience with and understanding of employment law, personnel policies, procedures, and controls in a public-sector workplace.
  • Experience with developing programs that provide education and training on recruitment strategies and competency-based interviewing.
  • Knowledge of recruitment and outreach methodologies and practices.
  • Effective decision-making, problem-solving, critical thinking, project and initiative management, and organizational leadership skills. Demonstrated written analyses and oral presentations experience with all levels of management. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of higher education policy and procedure related to recruitment and other policies
