Description
The Department of Radiology and Radiologic Sciences at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is recruiting for an exciting leadership opportunity! The Emergency Radiology (ER) Section Chief will be responsible for leading and growing the ER service at the largest comprehensive research, teaching, and patient care health system in the mid-South region. Our team of ER faculty provide evening and overnight coverage to the VUMC and Vanderbilt Children's Emergency Departments, including a Level I Trauma Center, as part of a 7 days on, 14 days off coverage model.
Position Summary:
- Provide leadership and operational oversight of ER imaging services within the Vanderbilt University Medical Center system, including a Level 1 trauma center and Children's Hospital, as well as VUMC Regional hospitals (Wilson and Bedford)
- As of 7/1/24, the ER section will be comprised of 11 fellowship-trained faculty with plans to expand to 15 total
- Education of medical students, residents, and fellows
- Opportunity to develop and grow professional interests
- Average commute is 20-30 minutes
- Academic rank and salary commensurate with experience
Position Requirements:
- Fellowship training in one of the following is encouraged, but not required: Neuroradiology, Emergency Radiology, Body Imaging, Musculoskeletal Imaging or Pediatric Radiology
- Hold an MD or equivalent degree
- ABR eligible/certified
- Eligible for TN license
- Comfortable in interpretation of Chest, Abdomen, Pelvis, and Neuroradiology emergency room related studies at a Level 1 trauma center
- > 5 years from completion of training
- Prior leadership experience within an academic medical center preferred
