Assists the pharmacists in completion of professional and technical services performed by the department of pharmacy. These services would include inpatient services, outpatient services, extended care facilities duties, investigational review board oversight and quality assurance activities. Performs purchasing, stocking, inventory control functions, sterile product preparation, chemotherapy preparation, labeling, pricing, and associated functions. Provide coverage within the pharmacy technician schedule as appropriate. *CA
Work related Experience: Prior experience in a comparable hospital setting preferred. Sterile product admixing experience preferred. Hazardous drug preparation experience preferred. IRBnet experience preferred. Technician license or equivalent (national certification) in WV required. Chemo-prep certification required.
Formal Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional relevant experience/education or certification required: If not certified in sterile admixture and hazardous drug preparation, certification must occur within 3 months of hire.
