Nicotine Free Statement: To further our mission in providing quality, compassionate care to everyone, effective January 1, 2017, Barton Health will no longer hire individuals who use or test positive for nicotine. Barton Health promotes a healthy and safe environment for all Associates, Physicians, Volunteers, Patients, and Vistors. POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for installation, support, and repair of personal computers, printers, software, PC-related peripheral devices. Respond to user requests for assistance in a timely manner. Complete problem reporting and tracking, project tracking, database establishment and maintenance and status reporting within the department. Complete maintenance of the Help Desk issues database. Provide follow-up to users and the IS staff.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience
  • Associate's degree preferred

Minimum Experience:

  • Previous experience in Information Systems or related field preferred
  • Hospital or other health care environment experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of PCs and PC software
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (ie: Word, Excel, etc)
  • Ability to organize and handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to assist and diagnose user application or system problems and escalation of issues to appropriate support staff, as needed
  • Reading and writing skills, organizing and filing, professional phone etiquette.
  • Sufficient computer skills are required to complete an online application and the pre-employment annual learning requirements.
  • In compliance with patient safety standards, must be able to effectively communicate in English; Bilingual abilities preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing, walking and sitting.
  • Exposure to stressful environments that may include communicating with difficult individuals in emotional situations.
  • Contact with patients and guests under a wide variety of circumstances.
  • Standard office environment.
  • Subject to pressure due to irregular hours, frequent interruptions and stressful situations due to multiple demands.
