The Lead Global Innovation Marketing Manager is a new and exciting role for BMC. You will work on the newest and most innovative initiatives for BMC – from ideation to incubation to commercialization and go-to-market efforts. Working across a collaborative marketing and communications team, you will get to build a and tell a compelling story around BMC's innovation program with the Chief Technology Officer and VP of Innovation as your lead stakeholders and partners.
You are as unique as this role, with experience in a start up or an incubator environment with the ability to turn really cool ideas into a cohesive narrative as you conceive of, and create, the programs, content, and deliverables to generate excitement around our new incubations and offerings. There is a very excited, company-wide community of resources and partners ready to support you and our innovation marketing programs.
You're expected to bring new and creative ideas to BMC in supporting our innovation efforts coupled with a strong product marketing foundation. Sales enablement and content marketing backgrounds are definitely great experience to bring to the role, as are program and project management skills. Previous experience in exciting enterprise technology is a must. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 1. Develop and own the BMC Innovation narrative and messaging. 2. Develop effective communication activities and programs including product positioning decks for internal and external consumption, collateral development, messaging source documents (MSD), sales plays, solution briefs, white papers and customer engagement. 3. Own and manage the innovation programs that promote and evangelize BMC Innovation Labs and programming internall, externally, and with our ecosystem. 4. Be involved in the product lifecycle and then build the go-to-market while working closely with the product owners to get insight and requirements for content build. 5. Create proper and thorough documentation describing product features and enhancements as appropriate, reviews existing documentation for accuracy and correctness. 6. Once products are launched, monitor messaging of incubations to ensure these products are meeting customer needs across each customer segmentation, adjusting the messaging over time to continue to achieve the desired outcomes. 7. Drive awareness and excitement of the new offerings with the sales team. 8. Work closely with incubation leaders to understand product strategies and roadmaps 9. Plan new product/capability launches and drive the cross-functional implementation of those plans to achieve desired business outcomes. 10. Collaborate and generate support from Solutions Marketing, Corporate Marketing, Employee Communications, and other teams to tell the BMC Innovation story.
THE SKILL SET • Bachelor's degree required; MBA/MS preferred • 8+ years of professional experience in enterprise software with 4+ years in technical product marketing /product management. • Strong writing skills with experience building impactful content including white papers, interactive product demos, webinars, videos and case studies • Demonstrated experience and proven track record working in a highly technical solution • Ability to work effectively and collaborate with internal cross-functional teams and external customers to drive results • Experience communicating with sales teams, customers, prospects, analysts, and internal management • Data driven marketing approach, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into business benefits • Strong analytical skills, an attention to detail, and an overall “can-do” attitude • Knowledge of the “Challenger Selling” methodology a plus
