The Highlights:

Reporting to the Associate Director of Transfer Admission, the Assistant Director is responsible for executing targeted recruitment activities and strategies designed to attract and enroll an undergraduate population of the projected enrollment plan to the university. This position manages a recruitment territory, counsels prospective students and their families, and assists in evaluating transcripts and recommending admission decisions through on-the-spot admission events and marginal file review.  

The Assistant Director also conducts reporting via SLATE, and contributes to the advancement of DePaul's recruitment strategies and initiatives, which may include project management of one of the following areas: marketing and communications, outreach to strategic mission populations, campus visits/events, recruitment initiatives for high-achieving students, and University Center/Cohorts.

What You'll Do:
 

  • The Assistant Director executes targeted recruitment activities and strategies designed to attract and enroll an undergraduate population of a predetermined size and mix, as defined by the university's enrollment goals and strategic plan. 
  • The Assistant Director executes targeted outreach efforts to attract prospective students. The position involves counseling and advising prospective students about undergraduate education opportunities at DePaul through calls, texts, e-mails, virtual and in-person appointments, information sessions, open houses, and admission events. 
  • The Assistant Director conducts reporting via SLATE and project manages one of the following areas: marketing and communications, outreach to strategic mission populations, campus visits/events, recruitment initiatives for high-achieving students, and University Center/Cohorts. 
  • Based on the needs of the department, supervision of a full-time staff member or student intern may be required. 

What You'll Need:

  • A bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree is desirable.  
  • Minimum of 3 and preferably 5 years of college admission counseling experience (preferably with transfer students).
  • Must demonstrate strong planning, organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience using a CRM (preferably Slate).
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong counseling and group presentation skills.
  • Ability to periodically lift 25 pound (boxes of recruitment materials).
  • Position requires travel, a valid driver's license, and use of a cell phone. Travel between DePaul campuses is required, and will include several community colleges or high schools in and around the Chicagoland area. 
  • Position requires some evening and weekend work, as needed.
