To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, this Summer, we're looking to add a Test Development Engineering Intern located in our Austin, TX site.
Reporting to the Test Development Manager, the intern will work on challenging projects in support of real-time business issues while developing skills and experiences. The student will be involved in projects that matter to the business and help achieve company goals as well as solving complex test fixtures for customers.
What a typical day looks like:
- Evaluates and improves on processes and procedures associated with test fixture design using Solid works/Autocad
- Supports one or more experienced engineers in the performance of assignments, spends time shadowing actual operations, and has unique assignments that support larger projects as well as the day-to-day operations of the engineering department
- Participates in additional activities/events which will help students build a strong network within the Flex community
Student qualities we're seeking for this internship assignment:
- Currently enrolled Senior level student pursuing undergrad degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, or related major
- Enthusiastic about working in a manufacturing environment
- Highly collaborative, creative and excellent communication skills
- Strong computer skills with experience in using CAD/related drawing software (Autocad, Solid works, Creo)
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Practical machine experience (3D printers, routers, etc.), strongly preferred
- Prior Mechanical Engineering internship experience, a plus!
Internship Program Requirements:
- Available to start May 30th and work 40 hours/week (in-person) for 10-12 week Summer assignment
- Currently enrolled in 4-year accredited university
- 3.0 minimum GPA
