JOB DESCRIPTION: The Electronics Technician Maintenance II applies basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers manuals or similar documents. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices. This technician works under immediate supervision and achieves technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician. SCA - Directory of Occupation Codes (5th Edition)
Will work to drawings and specifications and build assemblies, sub-assemblies, cables, etc. as depicted in the drawings and specs.
3 - 5 years of experience in the electronics field; assembly, testing, troubleshooting, wiring, etc. Ability to perform the following:
- Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
- Work independently or with little supervision
- Utilize hand tools, meters, oscilloscope, etc.
- Use power tools, drills, saws, etc.
- Soldering connections
- Assemble cable harnesses per drawings
- Possible international travel
Ability to obtain an Interim SECRET security clearance to start and the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance
Soldering to the IPC J-STD-001 Certification preferred, but will train as necessary.
Ability to operate forklift preferred but not required; will provide training as needed.
Mechanical aptitude preferred.
