SAIC is seeking a FSR Electronics Technician deployed OCONUS in Bagram, Afghanistan as a SME in support of AFCENT Tactical Vehicle C4ISR.


Job Duties:

  • Function as senior / lead tech of a small team but should also be able to work alone after brief training in-country.

  • Responsible for installing, maintaining, and upgrading all C4ISR systems and equipment on all tactical vehicles in the country assigned; candidate will perform routine maintenance checks and tasks under using standard procedures.

  • Perform alternate equipment custodian duties as well as receiving Mission Support Equipment (MSE) shipments, conducting inventory, operational checks as well as tagging, packaging, storing and onward shipment of MSE.

  • Tasked to utilize the USAF Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS) to record all repair and fault analysis.


Require Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED plus formal electronics training from: Technical School OR Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, OR four (4) year electronics apprentice program. Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors.

  • US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD Secret clearance.  Active DOD clearances accepted.

  • Four (4) years of practical experience, to include: electronics repair, maintenance and checkout.

  • One (1) year of practical experience in electronics installation.

  • Must have experience with integration and testing of C4ISR systems into tactical vehicles.

  • Must be able to complete the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a regular basis; as well as sitting, standing, stooping or squatting for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able and willing to work inside of enclosed, confined areas of vehicles; must have skills at manipulating and handling objects and tools needed for installation of equipment.

  • Must be able to pass a military physical which also screens and rejects candidates who have high risk COVID factors as determined by the WHO and CDC.


Desired Experience:

  • Prior military experience with the assembly, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, installation and checkout of electronic equipment desired, not required. Experience with IMDS.
