DescriptionPainter who specializes in painting in the industrial, automotive, and manufacturing industries. As an industrial painter, your responsibilities and duties will include preparing the surface to bind to the paint you will apply, applying paint in the desired color and film thickness (Mil) using specialized spraying equipment (conventional air, pressure pot, and Turbine spray guns), ensuring the quality of the job is up to Mil-spec standards, and cleaning up your work area and equipment. Job will require work in semi-confined spaces and at elevated heights using stair platforms.
QualificationsOperate, clean, and maintain industrial paint equipment and paint booth. Prepare raw material for painting. Properly mix and apply paint and related industrial coatings to steel equipment, resulting in a quality-finished MIL-Spec product. Maintain production records of material used for each vehicle, including tracking paint and solvent usage. Properly dispose of hazardous waste, according to safety and EPA regulations. Able to perform these tasks and able to lift up to 50lbs.
Must be knowledgeable in the proper use of PPE such as PAPR, SAPR respiratory equipment, and Full face/Half mask respirators. Also able to set, monitor, and maintain these systems and masks.
Knowledgeable in production time management processes and able to follow production schedules. Able to coordinate with production team to minimize work stop and production down time related to paintwork processes.
Preferred but not required:
Experience with MIL-Spec paint standards and applying Mil-spec CARC paint materials. Experience using dustless and Vapor blasting paint removal systems. Mix room and mixing station systems. Dustless Sanding Vacuum systems and related tools. Mil gauges and film thickness measuring devices. Gun wash stations. Spray equipment maintenance and repair.
