DescriptionOverseen by the Navy's Program Executive Office (PEO) for Unmanned and Small Combatants (USC), and located at the Washington Navy Yard, PMS 515designs, procures, and builds the next multi-mission Small Surface Combatant vessels. SAIC is supporting the Navy teams in delivering the capabilities needed to support a range of fleet operations in the most affordable manner possible. We are working on the development of small combatant, blue-water capable, multi-mission ships capable of operating in contested environments. It will have the ability to protect itself and potentially others with improved air defense capability, via the radar and weapons improvements, and shock-hardened systems for decreased vulnerability. We want you to contribute your skills to this team as a Cost Analyst.
In this role you will:
- Leverage knowledge of cost estimation and analysis in support of Navy Ship engineering and acquisition programs
- Develop life cycle cost estimates and methodologies associated with the acquisition of new ships, systems or equipment for these programs.
- Contribute to technical and cost data collection efforts to support cost model development
- Develop quantitative cost models that provide effective, insightful analysis.
QualificationsMinimum Degree Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Business, engineering, or related field
Minimum Certifications: Certified estimator by Society of Cost Estimating (SCEA)
Minimum Years' Experience: 5 years professional experience in financial analysis and cost estimating
Desired QualificationsPreferred Degree: Master's degree in business, engineering, or related field
Preferred Years' Experience: 10 years professional experience in financial analysis and cost estimating
Preferred Specialized Experience: DoD/DoN procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process)
