SAIC is looking for a Systems Integration and Test Engineer to provide technical support and advisory services on complex space systems integration efforts. For this position the Systems Integration and Test Engineer will be supporting the customer in the identification and management of system integration and test activities, development of schedules related to system test and support the integration and transition of systems into the operational baseline. The Systems Integration and Test Engineer possesses demonstrated working knowledge of large space systems development, integration and test activities necessary to enable the demonstration of operational capabilities in a larger enterprise. (This is not a complete list of activities or tasks)

SCOPE: Work with the government customer, SETA, FFRDC and prime contractor resources in identifying, coordinating and providing status on the integration, test and transition of space and ground capabilities. This includes:

  • Identify activities necessary to enable the integration, test, and delivery of operational capabilities in a larger enterprise
  • Support system test planning efforts and development of the following: detailed test objectives, plans and success criteria, requirement closure approaches, test execution schedule, simulated data sets, test connectivity, Test Readiness Review documentation and test reports
  • Work with multiple teams and program offices in the development and execution of system test plans and integration efforts
  • Coordinate system test level activities across the enterprise
  • Help the customer establish priorities and engage with various internal and external stakeholders to include senior executives, development contractors, and end users
  • Develops briefings and assessments to a variety of audiences, and must be able to convey information in a clear and articulate manner to Government leadership

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY:

  • Thorough understanding of space systems (to include ground element), design, integration, and test execution
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize competing priorities
  • Strong leadership and communications skills
  • Ability to work in a diverse team of customer, SETA, FFRDC and prime contractor personnel
  • Experience in large systems acquisition
  • Thorough understanding of space systems design, integration, and test execution

 

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience. 4+ years of experience is acceptable in place of bachelors degree

This position requires an active TS/SCI with Poly

 

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or related technical field or experience in performing space systems test
  • Experience in systems engineering, integration and test of space systems
  • Thorough understanding of space systems (spacecraft, communications, ground systems), design, integration and test execution
  • Can provide information in a clear and articulate manner to executive level leadership
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Products
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize competing work requirements and tasks to ensure customer driven priorities are met
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Masters of Science in engineering, science or related technical field
  • At least 10 years' experience in performing space systems acquisition, integration and test
  • Familiarity with NRO space systems
