University Extension is the continuing and professional education division of the University of California, Riverside offering over 80 programs and certificates to domestic and international students. Reporting to Extension Chief Experience Officer the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for the development and implementation of the organizations marketing strategies. This role is accountable for marketing strategies to identify prospective leads, internal and external communication development, branding, marketing research, forecasting, advertising, and student relationship management. Under the direction of the Chief Experience Officer, the incumbent will be key in pivoting the focus of the organization's marketing initiatives to support a meaningful quality student journey. Education Education Requirements Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required Advanced Degree in related area. Preferred
Experience Experience Requirement 8 - 13 years of related experience. Required Five years experience managing or supervising a marketing function. Preferred Experience in digital and multi-channel marketing. Required Previous supervisory/managerial experience. Preferred Experience working in higher education. Preferred
Minimum Requirements Strong market research, analytical, and problem recognition/avoidance/resolution skills.
Strong knowledge of current and emerging industry requirements and best practices in areas of marketing.
Strong interpersonal communication and political acumen skills, including advanced skills to effectively represent the campus with other internal and/or external constituencies.
Strong skill in managing staff including selection, training, evaluating and mentoring staff at all organizational levels; skill in taking corrective action with staff as required.
Strong skills to produce results and achieve predetermined goals within budget and time constraints.
Strong knowledge of the campus, including its mission, vision, achievements, infrastructure, products and services.
Strong skill in strategic planning, to effectively organize resources, establish priorities, and achieve desired results.
Strong knowledge of applicable University policies and state and federal laws regarding copyright and other licensing issues.
Familiarity with CRM functionality.
Understands data and analytics and uses these insights to develop marketing campaigns and measure its effectiveness.
Skilled at budget and resource management.
Skilled at interpreting and applying market research data to strategic plans.
Ability to engage and influence cross-functionally and collaboratively within an organization.
Knowledge of current and emerging marketing trends and best practices, including new and emerging strategies and technologies
Preferred Qualifications Experience with marketing self-supporting education programs

Experience with marketing higher education programs including continuing education and professional development programs.

Knowledge of University Extension, it's achievements, mission, goals, vision, infrastructure and products and services.
