DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

Capital Markets Finance manages the University's financing activities, including treasury operations, debt management and mortgage origination.

POSITION SUMMARY

Ensures administrative processes and office operations run smoothly. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

Responsibilities

35%

Oversees and ensures the daily administrative operations run smoothly, including coordinating department calendars, meetings and programs.

25%

Prepares correspondence, invoices and other materials for department management requiring some specialized knowledge of the subject matter. May work on sensitive issues, priorities, protocol, et cetera.

20%

Participates in the development and implementation of efficient and effective systems for managing information, projects and communications to ensure accurate and timely responses.

15%

Applies specialized office software related to the functional areas. In addition, applies somewhat complex spreadsheet formulas, pivot tables, and similar functions. Compiles and arrays spreadsheets using subject-matter knowledge of the material to ensure data results are consistent with the nature of the data.

5%

Works across the department to provide backup assistance, as necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge in administrative procedures and processes including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Requires good verbal and written communication skills, active listening, critical thinking, multi-task and time management skills.
  • Requires interpersonal and work leadership skills to provide guidance to other nonexempt personnel.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
